Red Roses

I participated in a Bowl-a-thon to raise money for Junior Achievement.
We were Pirates, Salty Sailors really.
I decided we need to have some red roses to go with our attire.
I was inspired by this Felt Flower Tutorial
So I purchased an XL red shirt and started cutting.
I made about 8 red flowers and then had to make some purple ones too out of an old shirt that was no longer useable.

I cut four circles out of the sleeves (about 4" diameter)
Then strips down the body of the shirt. (about 3" thick)
Fold the strips in half and hot glue.
Then cut with pinking shears (about every 1")
Put a ring on hot glue around the outside edge of the circle and stick the cut strip.  Continue to the middle (I used two strips for each flower)
finish with a jewel in the middle and an alligator clip on the back.
