George showed up at our house a few days before Thanksgiving.
(Since we were going out of town for Thanksgiving)
He usually brings gifts but this year his gits were AWESOME!
So was his entrance.
He went around the house taking pictures of himself in differents places.
THEN he put them on the digital picture frame in the living room.

Silhouette Cameo

Have you been wanting a Silhouette Cameo?
I got mine at a great pre-order price in August but no one has had a great deal since. SilhouetteAmerica.com claimed they were having a great deal for black Friday. It was only $50 off (15%) which is better than full price but only $7.05 savings over expressionsvinyl.com every day price. I saw on Facebook some others were just as disappointed and they left a few tips. My awesome sister in law found this great deal after researching the tips:

Get the Cameo for $215 total.
How?
Go to wwww.ohmycrafts.com
use the code "thanks20"

Merry Christmas!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!!
I wanted to share a Thanksgiving Prayer.

A Thanksgiving Day Prayer
Lord, so often times, as any other day
When we sit down to our meal and pray
We hurry along and make fast the blessing
Thanks, amen. Now please pass the dressing
We’re slaves to the olfactory overload
We must rush our prayer before the food gets cold
But Lord, I’d like to take a few minute more
To really give thanks to what I’m thankful for
For my family, my health, a nice soft bed
My friends, my freedom, a roof over my head
I’m thankful right now to be surrounded by those
Whose lives touch me more than they’ll ever possibly know
Thankful Lord, that You’ve blessed me beyond measure
Thankful that in my heart lives life’s greatest treasure
That You, dear Jesus, reside in that place
And I’m ever so grateful for Your unending grace
So please, heavenly Father, bless this food You’ve provided
And bless each and every person invited
Amen!

Book Shower Party Favor

My friend, Jennifer (crafty crayola Jennifer) helped throw a baby shower for one of her friends.  She asked me to help with the party favors.  The theme was Golden Books.  So we came up with this popcorn wrapper . . .

Hang Your Art

We have a place to hang the boys' art in the playroom.  But they like to hang items in their rooms too.  So I made these handy Art Hangers for each of them.

Ruffle Skirt

I made this ruffle skirt out of 3 tshirts. 1 medium for the base and 2 large for the "ruffles"  I found the idea on Pinterest.  It took about 20 minutes.  It's not the greatest seamstress item so don't look close but I love it!  Differences from her demo:  waist: I folded over the top of the base shirt stitched and then put elastic through.  I also did not pin the ruffles as she does in the demo.  I just stictched as I went.

Cinnamon Melt Waffles

Tastefully Simple sells this AMAZING muffin mix.
Cinnamon Muffin Melt Mix

The mix according to package directions is AMAZING!
I've even tried the snickerdoodle cookie recipe on the box.
One morning my boys wanted some waffles.  I decided to use the CMM Mix.
Thank goodness it worked and was just as delicious as the muffins but in waffle form!

Roll the dice, dinner game

Once again I found a COOL idea on Pinterest!
Add one die to your dinner table. When he moans and groans about eating his food have him roll the die to see how many bites he HAS to take to be dismissed.  That was the original idea.  Beckam had his own idea (which I went with and enjoyed much more.)  He would roll the die take that many bites and then roll the die again and take that many bites.  FUNNY BOY!!!!

Back To School Lunch Boxes!

If you've used heat transfer vinyl you know you can't iron on slick material.  A friend discovered (quite by accident but I'm SO glad she did) that if you lightly steam regular vinyl it will stay a LONG time.
So I used outdoor quality vinyl cut it out (regular cut NOT reverse) and then lightly ironed it with a little steam to "stick" it permanently. (If I hadn't used the iron it would come off the first day of use)  I used the same vinyl on the plastic cups but no ironing needed :)

Onesies

We threw a surprise VERY LAST MINUTE shower for my cousin recently.
They are having baby number 2!  So I made some onesies.
Baby Boy's big sister is Presley, Baby Boy's daddy works on crains, and who couldn't use a little cash!

Crayon Art

Thanks to our HOT weather and my fun friend Jennifer she made some Crayola Art
(DO NOT attempt with other brands of crayons, you will not be successful)
She taped the crayons to the board and then set it in the 115 degree sunshine!

the board on the left fell shortly after "take off" so she just let them lay flat and melt.
SO cool!

Drive In Movies

www.pinterest.com/wendiSince I LOVE amazon I get a few boxes a week (OK, a day) so we decided to get creative and make some "cars" and go to a "drive in" movie for lunch.  It was fun explaining a "drive in" movie to them too!
Thanks to Pinterest for a FUN idea!

Craft Room Update

Really, it's an office, but for Project Purple purposes, it's a Craft Room!
I got busy organizing and cleaning out and arranging "to do" projects.
(why does it seem it will never get done)

AND the closet.
I don't have "before" pictures as it was SUCH a mess I couldn't get a lens wide enough to take the photo!  TRUST ME!

Centers!

One day while I was gone and while Dad was sleeping the boys decided to set up "center party" Centers all over the living room and playroom.  It was so fun and creative I HAD to take a photo of each center.  They also explained each one to me and I'm going to attempt to do them justice!  This Early Childhood Education degreed mom was SOOOO proud!  ENJOY

Crab Sandwiches

So on the way home from the pool (hints no shirts) Dade asked me "What are we having for lunch?"
My reply: "Crab Sandwiches"
Dade: "YUCK"
Me: "It's OK, you don't have to eat it"
Needless to say they both GOBBLED them down!
PBJ sandwich, apples, marshmallows, chocolate chips.
I found the idea on one of my FAVORITE sites:

Popsicle Cozy

We don't do pop-ice but we DO enjoy frozen yogurt sticks.
Just buy the horizon organics yogurt "YoKids Squeezers" and freeze them.
So we went to Hobby Lobby and got to "pick your own felt squares" and made some Popsicle cozies.  I got about 6 out of each piece of felt.  I just folded it in half and surged away!

Tie Dye Shirts

We have a shirt design every year for the Fireworks Follies
After our T&C trip we decided to do white and tie dye the shirts of those that wanted it.  To make the heart (and star too) we folded the shirt in half length wise and drew half a heart.  Start at one end and scrunch following the line until you get to the other end.  tie off with rubber bands.

Red, White and Blue gumballs from http://www.polkadotmarket.com/
I used press 'n seal to keep the colors separated and then removed the press 'n seal.
I LOVED the look.  Not allowed to do it again as there was gum EVERY WHERE!!!!  Come on people! :)

LI Towel Project

It's the tenth anniversary of my parents cabin at the lake.
We call it the Logumall Inn.
We have a new "logo".
Every one that stays has to bring their own bath towel so this year my parents blessed the fourth of July guests with bath towels Silhouetted with their name inside the logo.  It was a fun project.
I did 40 total towels and got lots of looks when I was purchasing them at target.
THEN I made the HUGE MISTAKE of cutting ALL 40 of the images out on my silhouette WITHOUT reversing the image.  SO I got to cut them out again.  The CORRECT way this time (you have to reverse the image so you can iron it on)
